In the original arcade versions of Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II , Scorpion would randomly alternate between "Get over here!" and "Come here!". However, due to memory limitations on home consoles like the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, often only one of the two phrases (usually "Come here!") was included.

In the spin-off Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks , if you spam the spear move repeatedly, Scorpion eventually loses his patience and yells more aggressive variations like "GET THE F*** OVER HERE!". Legacy in Gaming Culture

The line was born from a moment of spontaneity during development. Boon and the team were looking for a way to make Scorpion’s spear move feel more impactful. Boon thought it would be funny to have the character yell something as he pulled his opponent in, so he grabbed a studio microphone and recorded the lines himself. He actually drew inspiration from a previous project he worked on, High Impact Football , where players would shout "crazy, stupid things" to grab attention in loud arcades.
